Lucknow. FICCI FLO Lucknow organized an intriguing session titled “Detective Diaries – The Law Behind Detection” today at Hotel Clarks Avadh. Renowned female detective Tanya Puri served as the keynote speaker for the event. Organized by FLO Lucknow Chairperson Simran Sahni, the program featured a fascinating discussion covering cinematic cases of detection, women’s rights, and the legal validity of detective work in India.
Tanya Puri is India’s youngest female detective and the CEO of ‘Lady Detectives India.’ Specializing in pre- and post-marital investigations, Tanya is one of the few female detectives in a field within the country that is predominantly dominated by men. She regularly shares insights into some of her most intriguing cases via her Instagram handle, @ladydetectivesindia.
The event was presided over by FLO’s Legal Advisory Committee, led by Smita Mathur and Deepika Agarwal.

This enlightening session underscored FICCI FLO Lucknow’s commitment to organizing meaningful discussions aimed at informing, empowering, and inspiring women. The session’s moderator, Seemu Ghai, posed several incisive questions to Tanya Puri; in response, Tanya shared real-life anecdotes (without disclosing any names) that seemed straight out of a Bollywood movie script! She also emphasized how women can leverage the assistance of detective agencies to secure their rights within their relationships.
The discussion also addressed the legal validity of detective work—delineating which actions fall within the permissible boundaries of the law and which constitute legal violations—while also highlighting privacy-related concerns in the current era of digital communication. More than 100 members of FLO Lucknow participated in this program—including former Chairpersons Anju Narain and Vibha Agarwal—among whom were also Executive Committee members Devanshi Seth, Nivedita Singh, Pragya Agarwal, Mitali Oswal, and Vasudha Jain.
